"The members of Lodi United Methodist Church, believe that, as followers of Christ,
the purpose of our church is to preach, teach, and witness to the gospel, to care for the needs of our community and world missions, and to live in a caring, loving, trusting and accepting way, in order to glorify God in all things."
Lodi United Methodist Church has been a cornerstone of the Village of Lodi Ohio, since 1846. The Church was first organized as the Methodist Episcopal Church in Harrisville. The first regular minister was appointed in 1865 with the first church building dedicated in 1869. In 1920, the old church was dismantle and rebuild at a Medina Street home. In 1921 the present church building was dedicated on May 21. We just celebrated our 100th year in this church and look forward to building our future!
Lodi UMC is assigned to the Firelands District of the East Ohio Conference where we are still working hand in hand with our sister Churches today.
Rev. Paige Boyer became the pastor of Lodi UMC in July 2023.
She brings to the church a spirit of openness and hope, seeking to help others find home and peace within the church community.
As a preacher and teacher, she invites others to find new meaning to the ancient Biblical texts, while honoring its meaning in the lives of the congregation. Questions and curiosities are welcome in conversation with the scriptures and our personal experiences. The stories we have lived and the stories we read in the Bible create a rich tapestry of connection with God and one another.
Outside of church, you will likely find Rev. Paige making something, whether with her 3-D printer, crochet hooks or whatever craft has inspired her at any given moment. She also enjoys playing various kinds of games with her friends and family. A nerd at heart, you may also find her “in a galaxy far, far away,” enjoying Star Wars movies, shows and games.
Rev. Paige has a Master of Divinity degree from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, a United Methodist Seminary in Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in communication from Ashland University. She is an editor of two devotional books: We Pray With Her and Speaking Truth. She has also written curriculum for the Global Board of Church and Society’s Connecting Faith and Justice Youth Curriculum. She is also one half of “Pastor Swifties” and co-host of The Eras of - a podcast connecting the music of Taylor Swift to Jesus and the stories of God. While the podcast is on hiatus, archives are available at where ever you find podcasts.
